David J. O'Brien - Owner/Managing Broker, FlatGrass Realty; Owner, FlatGrass Development

Dave has been involved in real estate since moving to Denver in 2001. Prior to this, he worked in the design world as a consulting structural engineer. A graduate of Clarkson University in New York with Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in Civil/Structural Engineering, Dave has extensive experience designing residential and commercial structures.

As managing broker for FlatGrass Realty, Dave's combination of technical knowledge, proficient problem solving, and communication skills provide his clients with a competitive advantage and a trusted advocate when making decisions regarding their real estate needs. In addition to his role at FlatGrass Realty, Dave is also a founding partner of FlatGrass Development.

Dave enjoys taking advantage of Colorado's great outdoors whenever possible. He is an avid cyclist and backcountry skier and also enjoys backpacking and climbing. He lives within the Berkeley neighborhood of Northwest Denver with his wife Jennifer.

Jennifer C. O'Brien, P.E. - Broker Associate, FlatGrass Realty; Consultant, FlatGrass Development

Jenn began her professional career in the field of Environmental Engineering and transitioned to real estate as it allowed her flexibility and a renewed focus on her strengths: working with people and creative problem solving. Jenn graduated from Clarkson University in New York with a Bachelor of Science degree and also holds a Master of Science in both Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Colorado.

Jenn's energy and enthusiasm shine through in her work for both the buyers and sellers of FlatGrass Realty. She knows that listening is the best way to understand her client's needs and she works with an unrivaled sense of personal commitment to produce results. Her knowledge of today's real estate market is an asset that's been leveraged in her roles as an agent for FlatGrass Realty as well as a consultant to FlatGrass Development.

In her free time, Jenn is torn between the multitude of recreational options that Denver and the mountains provide, with backcountry skiing hut trips, triathlons, and road biking topping the list. Jenn lives in a Berkeley Victorian with her husband Dave and loves riding her cruiser bike to everything that North Denver has to offer.

Tom Commerford, A.I.A. - Owner/Architect, FlatGrass Development

Tom is a registered Architect in the State of Colorado with nearly 15 years of project management experience in the residential field. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Kansas, a Masters in Real Estate Finance and Construction Management from the University of Denver, and has completed coursework towards a PhD in sustainable building practices. Tom brings with him extensive knowledge of sustainable building practices honed during his time at McStain Neighborhoods.

Tom enjoys trips throughout Colorado and Europe, is an avid tennis nut and enjoys a good book when time allows. When he isn't juggling his FlatGrass duties, Tom likes a good trek through the mountains.
